Wheezer

Wheezer is a guide from the jungles of D'Loc-Aloc, where One-Eye and Tom-Tom grew up. Like One-Eye, he is a small, elderly black man. Unlike One-Eye, he has a chronic chest condition, probably tuberculosis (hence the name) and few useful skills, but the Company takes him anyway. Wheezer perpetually chews and spits a brownish leafy substance which One-Eye says is narcotic and helps ease his pain. He remains with the Company after they pass through D'Loc-Aloc. Various annalists often wonder how it is that he managed to survive so much heavy action.

Wheezer is one of the Captured beneath the Fortress of the Glittering Plain. He dies when Cordy Mather accidentally breaks his stasis spell.
