Valentine Permanos

Formerly Kolchak's chief lieutenant, Valentine stole half of the kingpin's money and skipped town with his brother Clement six years before the events of Sweet Silver Blues. They made their way to Full Harbor, where Valentine made contact with the vampire nest of Dawn of Night's Madness; since he was dying a slow death of disease before he left, it's likely he took the money just in case he had to bribe his way in. The whole plot was an attempt of Valentine's to cheat death. He died at the end of the events of that book.
