The Cantard Wars

The Cantard Wars have been fought between Karenta and Venaget for several human generations. Due to the fact that most of the world's silver is mined in the Cantard - and silver powers sorcery - the nation that controls the Cantard will have much more magic available to it than any other. This is the root cause of the Wars.

Uncounted thousands have lost their lives in the Cantard since the Wars began. A game between the ruling powers of the two rival kingdoms, the Cantard Wars are mostly played on the mainland nearest the mines; the battles in the islands off the Cantard coast are mostly "sideshow stuff" - maneuvers for temporary naval advantage, but not destined to change the face of the Wars.

Most of the native people of the Cantard (such as the centaur tribes) have been drawn into the conflict, either as mercenaries or as bystanders caught up in the fighting that tore apart their homelands.
