The Bustee
From Glen Cook Wiki
The worst slum in TunFaire, the Bustee is the bottom of the bottom. It is a shantytown, where the residents live in lean-tos and tents made of rags, or cram ten families into a building meant for one. Most of the buildings are in disrepair, their wooden parts scavenged for firewood long ago. The ratmen who collect garbage won't go into the Bustee without protection; the soldiers won't enter it in less than company strength. Only the deathmen are safe there, bringing their wagons in empty and leaving with the dead, bound for the city crematoriums.
"Bustee" in India is a word meaning a slum or shanty town.
