Suvrin

Suvrin is a minor noble from the southern Taglios territories, assigned to lead the border patrol near the Shadowgate during the Protectorate. He is initially a pudgy, uncertain fellow with large brown eyes who isn't much of a warrior. (The name Suvrin means "Junior".) He is taken prisoner by the Black Company and spends several years with them, quickly becoming ingrained in the Company culture. He is eager to please and learns a great deal training and working with the Company; Sleepy soon realizes that he has excellent potential. He is offered the post of Annalist, which he declines on the grounds that he doesn't want to spend his life as a mercenary. However, the Captaincy does eventually devolve to him, and he leads the Company back to the Land of Unknown Shadows at the end of [{Soldiers Live]].
