Sleepy

Sleepy joins the Black Company during their initial campaigns in the South after being rescued by Big Bucket from her sexually abusive uncles. Originally assumed to be a boy due to her short hair and androgynous features, Sleepy derives her name from one eye which is set in a permanent 'droop'. Sleepy becomes leader of The Black Company during Murgen and Croaker's imprisonment, working for fifteen years to free them. During this time she develops several alternate identities for covert operations, including Sawa and Vajra the Naga.

Sleepy is a devout Vedhna, which is a monotheistic religion that involves praying several times a day on a prayer rug (the faith is perhaps loosely modeled after Islam). Her faith prohibits her from cursing, and her improvised alternatives provide much entertainment for the Company. She is an extremely capable tactician and successfully leads the Company through several major battles.

She dies in the final assault on Taglios, caught in an ambush designed for Soulcatcher.
