The head of an Orthodox parish in Full Harbor, the Sair is hard and leathery.

During the large Venageti incursion three years before the events in Sweet Silver Blues, Sair Lojda's church was behind enemy lines for thirteen days. The Sair was praised for talking the Venageti into sparing the church. After they were repulsed, he brokered a deal with the army to release one hundred and twenty Venageti prisoners, ostensibly as a gesture of goodwill. Full Harbor bears a great love for the man, seen as having great compassion for the enemies of his church. In fact, the Sair is the chief Venageti undercover agent in Full Harbor. He (and his assistant Father Mike) used the prisoner release to send forty officers home.
