A member of the Black Company during the period when Croaker and the others are trapped in the Plateau of Glittering Stone. It is not known when he joined. His nickname is River. He is actually surprisingly intelligent and perceptive, a fact which he generally conceals - partly so he can keep winning at Tonk.
