Raven

Raven (aka Corbie, true name Baronet Corvo) is a former aristocrat of the Northern Empire, whose tortured past seems to revolve around his affiliation with The Limper. He joins The Black Company upon their arrival in the north having recently murdered his wife for her part in his recent downfall. He leaves after the Battle of Charm, rejoining the Company when it decides to defect to the White Rose. He leaves after the defeat of The Dominator, when he becomes involved with Case in the search for his children and his love for Darling.
Raven is stoic and often taciturn; however he possesses a strength of character that often causes much more dangerous people than him to back down. He has a nervous habit of making a knife appear in his hand when he is stressed or angry; Croaker believes a conjurer must have taught the trick to him. He has a habit of getting out of seemingly impossible situations alive; several times he leaves the Company, presumed dead, only to turn up alive again, much to the surprise of his comrades.
Raven dies following the siege of Oar, when he is corrupted by the Silver Spike and has to be killed to prevent him from resurrecting The Dominator.
