Playmate

An outfitter and stable manager. Playmate is a black man close to seven feet tall (sometimes Garrett exaggerates his height as closer to nine feet) and has color-impregnated clan scars on his face; he is said to have some mixed blood somewhere in his background. He grew up on Tinkers Row. Despite his fierce appearance, he doesn't have a mean bone in his body.

Some years before the events in Sweet Silver Blues, Garrett retrieved money owed to Playmate, keeping the stable from going under.

For some reason never stated in Old Tin Sorrows, Garrett refers to him as Sweetheart (I suspect Cook simply forgot the name because there was no reason for Garrett to conceal who Playmate was).
