Pixies

Pixies are the smallest of the races in TunFaire, perhaps the size of a human thumb. They live in colonies and have very short lives. In Angry Lead Skies, one pixie girl goes from adolesent to mature woman in the course of the book. They sometimes act as messengers and are the one race that doesn't fear the Kingpin, since they can fly faster then the thugs can run. They supposedly are mortal enemies of bumblebees. They seem to use a variety of small edged weapons, generally poisoned. Pixie society is matriarchal; usually males join the colony of their mates.

Despite their small size and short lifespans, pixies enjoy a few benefits that other races do not. They are the only race not to fear the Outfit, because they can fly faster than even the toughest mob enforcers can run. Also, few people notice them because most folks don't look up in TunFaire. Garrett allows a colony of pixies to move into the walls of his house and in return they help drive off unwanted intruders sometimes. He also attempts to use them to gather intelligence at a major Outfit event in Whispering Nickel Idols. However, the pixies are too undisciplined and spend most of their time stealing food, wine, beer, and small valuables.
