One of the Jewel Cities along the coast of the Sea of Torments, on the northern coast. Opal resembles a younger, fresher Beryl. It is absorbed into the Northern Empire before the beginning of the series, and is the seat of a province originally governed by the Limper. Raven is from Opal.
