Nyueng Bao

A clannish, insular tribe of a few thousand people living in the Delta, an enormous swamp near Taglios, largely resembling a southeast Asian nation in culture and physiology. The Nyueng Bao keep to themselves, virtually never intermarry or have commerce with outsiders, and make a pilgrimage every four years to the Shadowgate.

Tradition known to only a few Nyueng Bao has it that they are the pureblood descendants of a Free Company which declined to fulfill its mission. This tradition is not quite correct; they are actually the Nyueng Bao De Duan, refugees from the Land of Unknown Shadows.
