Mercy

A platoon leader in the Black Company at the outset of the series. Croaker describes him as the nastiest platoon leader in the outfit. Mercy is a "cocky, smallish fellow" fond of dramatic gestures. He gets assignments where harsh action is called for. He is killed in the Beryl riots outside the Bastion.
