Juniper
From Glen Cook Wiki
A city on the northwestern coast, nestled between two arms of the Wolander mountain range; it lies about 1500 miles away from the western edge of the Northern Empire. Juniper is ruled by a family of Dukes; it seems to make most of its money through trade. The predominant religion in Juniper involves careful preparation of the dead, which are stored in an extensive and ancient system of Catacombs, waiting to cross into paradise. Each body is interred with a small monetary offering to pay passage to paradise.
Juniper is where the Dominator attempts to break free from his imprisonment by constructing a sorcerous Black Castle which will serve as a gateway. The Duke asks the Lady for help, bringing the Black Company and several of the Taken to the city. As the truth about the Black Castle is revealed, a major battle develops in which even Lady participates directly.
It is at this battle in Juniper when the Company realizes that Whisper plans to betray and destroy them; they escape and switch sides to join the Rebels.
After the battle, Lady loots the Catacombs for gold. The city rises in an uproar, and she reportedly flattens the city. Nothing further is known about Juniper's fate.
