Cletus

Cletus is a soldier who joins the Black Company in Beryl as the Company heads south in search of Khatovar. He joins with his brothers Longinus and Loftus. All three desert the Beryl Urban Cohorts to join the Company. They are excellent engineers and are the primary people responsible for building and maintaining the Company's artillery (ballistae), seige works, and so forth.

Cletus is one of the Captured beneath the Fortress of the Glittering Plain. He dies when Cordy Mather accidentally breaks his stasis spell.
