Bucket

Big Bucket, or Bucket (aka Cato Dahlia) is a soldier who joins the Black Company in Opal as Croaker begins his quest to find Khatovar. He joins because he was wanted for common theft in Opal. He came with the name, and no one is quite sure where it came from. He is mentioned as having large, curly hair and is portrayed as somewhat dopey at times. But despite this, he gains a reputation as a hardass leader with a reputation for getting his jobs done and bringing his people back alive. He remains with the Company for a long time, becoming good friends with Sleepy and Murgen.

After Soulcatcher springs her trap in the Fortress of the Glittering Plain, Bucket tried to escape, along with Sindawe and several other Company men. Despite the danger presented by the encroaching night (and its shadows), he stops to arrange his Nyueng Bao bodyguard Suyen Dinh Duc's body in a dignified pose before continuing his flight. He dies a day and a half from the Shadowgate, victim of a shadow.
